I am certainly not alone in my opinion on the subject of war. It's 2022 and war in Europe is a catastrophe beyond compare. Putin has become an absolute megalomaniac, if you look back and follow what Russia has done in recent years and then listen to the analyses of various military strategists, you ask yourself why Europe didn't open its eyes earlier and react, they suspected, or rather knew what Putin was up to and what makes him tick! The annexation of Crimea was a trial run to see how Europe would react, namely almost not at all. He laughed up his sleeve, let a little grass grow over it and now he is murdering and pillaging all over Ukraine. The origin of this is Putin's nationalist thinking, which has made him a war criminal and his constant lies lack any credibility for talks. Moreover, the lies ensure that there is great uncertainty about his future goals. What guarantee is there that the despot will not get the idea to "liberate" by military means also those Russians who live as a minority in Latvia, Estonia or Lithuania, i.e. in NATO states? Ethnic nationalism with its subspecies racism and anti-Semitism has accompanied Europe for over a hundred years, we thought we had contained this evil - Europe was mistaken and blind. The greatest challenge will not be to show a Vladimir Putin his limits, but to banish this murderous ideology of the alleged inferiority of other ethnic and religious groups, peoples and nations from our minds. Now that war is knocking on Europe's door, the rude awakening is coming. We can only hope that those who have to make important decisions now will do so with prudence and a sense of proportion and also carefully consider the consequences. The opponent is unpredictable and has too much power for one person, he can apparently do what he wants without reckoning with consequences and that makes him dangerous, very dangerous.
